Frequently Asked Questions

The purpose of the Free Tours is to enable the tourists to join the global trend of Free tours, and participated in walking tours guided by professional and certified tour guides without any payment in advance. 

Q: Why do we offer free tours?

A: We believe that you should not have to pay for a tour in advance, without having experienced it first. We think that you should decide how much you think the tour was worth when the tour is over. We are confident to let you decide the value of the tour.  You cannot get a fairer system and this ensures that our guides give their best service every tour.

Q: What is an appropriate amount for tip at the end?

A: Our charming guides gets their income from only from your gratuity. It is customary in the world on such free tours to give about 15 Euro per person or more, but it’s all up to you. Similar tours in other companies cost about 25 to 50 Euro. Loved your tour and tour guide? Let him or her know!

Q: Do I have to make a reservation or can I just show up?

A: Yes. Reservations are required for guaranteed spots on all tours. Reservations help us determine the number of guides we need to ensure that our groups remain manageable and enjoyable, and allow us to notify you of changes to the tour due to weather or anything that could disturb the tours. Occasionally a tour might be full and more arrivals won’t be able to join in.

Q: We are a group of six or more. Why can’t we make a free reservation online?

A: If you’re traveling with over 6 people, please book a private tour. One of our guides will be happy to guide you in a private tour. See the last question at the bottom for details.

Q: What happens if we arrive late to the tour?

A: The tour will start on time. We recommend arriving at the starting location at least 10 – 15 minutes before the tour starts. Any late arrivals with reservations, may have their reserved spots allotted to walk-up guests.

Q: I cannot come to the tour. Do I have to let you know?

A: Yes! Please give us immediate notice ASAP when you know that you are not going to come, so we will be able to give your reserved spots to other travelers.

Q: When to book the Free Walking Tour?

A: Book the tour as early as can be, to guarantee availability. If the tour is fully booked, you won’t be able to book it.

Q: Can I attend a morning and afternoon tour on the same day?

A: Yes. And you have plenty of time to dine and rest between them. Just make sure you have enough time to get to the afternoon tour on time.

Q: Can my children attend a tour without me?

A: While we do love having younger visitors joining us, we do require any minor under 16 to attend the tour with an adult. Each adult can be accompanied by a maximum of three adolescents or children.

Q: Do the tours ever get cancelled for weather?

A: The show must go on! Our tours go out rain or shine. Dress appropriately for the conditions. If the weather is bad your guide will include as many “bad weather” indoor stops as possible. Comfortable walking shoes are recommended. However, walking tours may change due to extreme weather, so it is important to book the tours, and all reserved guests will get an email should this happen. Q: Can we bring our dog/cat?

A: We love pets, but unfortunately not all guests do. We ask guests not to bring pets on the public tours. We do offer private tours and many of these can accommodate dogs.

Q: Are the tour guides professional?

A: Definitely! All our guides have a tour guide license from the Ministry of Tourism, insurance, experience and knowledge that they will be happy to share with you. Everyone is professional and loves their jobs.

Q: How can I give feedback about my experience?

A: You’ll receive an email with a form you may fill out at the end of every tour. Help us improve!

Q: How long will it take to send me the confirmation for the tour?

A: Usually, you will receive your confirmation immediately. if not, wait for 24 hours and book the tour again, and write in the Remarks Era that this is an additional registration. Once you get your confirmation mail, please print it out or download on your smartphone/tablet to show on the day of the activity as needed.

Q: Do we visit each landmark included in the itinerary?

A: On the web page of the tour, we indicate which sites we will visit and which sites we will see from the outside, and you can choose which one to visit later in your own time. In any case, it is emphasized that all the free tours are free of any access to paid sites and without food tasting in the food markets etc.

Q: Can I leave before the tour ends?

A: It is not recommended but of course possible. Please let your guide know so he/she will not wait for you at the next stop.

Q: Do we stop for a break?

A: The tours are not too long so we think that a coffee break or food stop is not necessary and you can decide where you would like to go afterwards. Your guide will be more than happy to help you with recommendations.

Q: How difficult is the walking tour?

A: Our tours take place in the city, with stops for explanations and stories. Anyway, if you have difficulty walking about 1.5 miles (about 2 km), it is recommended to book a private tour, where you can completely control the duration, length and difficulty of the tour.

Q: How can I order a private tour?

A: We do offer private tours, in English, Hebrew and other languages. Our minimum is 1 and the maximum depends on the tour. We charge per guide rather than per person. For this, please contact us via email or by WhatsApp +972-522528464.
